INDYCAR SEASON BEGINS - D'ORLANDO DUO STILL STRIVING TO FULFILL BUDGET SHORTFALLS

Budget limitations keep the brothers sidelined for St. Petersburg Grand Prix

White Plains, NY (February 24, 2025) –

d’Orlando Enterprises LLC regrets to announce that the d’Orlando brothers will not be participating in the 2025 INDYCAR and USF Pro Championship’s season opener in St. Petersburg, FL next week. As the duo continues to face budgetary and sponsorship challenges, this will be the first time that Michael will not compete on the tricky street circuit in six years. Although not in the drivers’ seat, both championship winning drivers will be familiar faces to be seen at next weekend’s INDYCAR season launch.

Michael d’Orlando had planned to return to the Indy NXT grid this year after achieving multiple top-6 finishes during his half-season in 2024. His performance in Indy NXT, along with his championship title in the 2022 USF 2000 Championship and top-4 finish in the 2023 USF Pro 2000 Championship, has established him as a strong contender for wins and another championship.

Nick d’Orlando aims to rejoin the USF Pro Championships after a year away from the INDYCAR development program. He has been impressive in his previous two full years of competition and three partial seasons, with two championship podiums, including the 2021 FRP F1600 Champion and 2024 Radical Cup N. A. Vice Champion.

“I am extremely disappointed to not be on track at St Pete this weekend. This is a hard pill to swallow,”explains Michael d’Orlando. “I have always loved the street circuit there and the entire vibe around the event is so amazing, and even with the last-minute opportunity to race it last year in Indy NXT, I managed a top-6 finish in my first race at that level. Competing in Indy NXT last year for seven races proved that I can compete at this level and vie for wins and a championship. I am extremely focused and determined to get back in the seat.”

The brothers continue to work with their current partners and their network of corporations and individuals to secure the budget needed to return to racing. They continue to be focused on physical training, staying active in the extensive car culture scene in their local area of Charlotte, NC, and continue their studies at UNC Charlotte, aiming to graduate with Business Management degrees this December.

“The off season was extremely busy for us.” states Nick d’Orlando. “We were very fortunate to have some support of various sponsors to compete last year, and I was so happy to get another full season under my belt, but there is no time to just sit back and relax. Between classes at school, consistent training at the gym and working with our network to find additional business partners and sponsors, it’s a full time job to keep focused on advancing my career. This is the hardest position we've been in and we work all year just to try to get back in a race car seat and work toward that goal of INDYCAR.”
